Youth 2000 Synod Submission

Invitation to join us in the Dunboyne Hall at St Patrick’s College Maynooth
on Saturday 9th March from 2pm-6pm.

As you may know, there is a universal synod underway. The second session of the Synod will take place in October this year, with Bishop Alan McGuckian, and Bishop Brendan Leahy will be the Irish delegates to the Synod.

Youth 2000 has been invited to make a written submission to the Synod, on your behalf and on behalf of all the young people of Youth 2000.

We will host a gathering next week where you will have an opportunity to contribute your experiences and thoughts about your faith, the Church and the Synod to this submission.

In preparation for the gathering in October, our document will be available to the Irish delegates and will also contribute towards a document which will be returned to Rome on behalf of the Church in Ireland.

The gathering on the 9th is open to anyone who has an association with Youth 2000 whether lay people, priests or religious.

The gathering will take place in the Dunboyne Hall and the schedule will be as follows:

  • 2pm-2.30pm                Welcome and Introduction
  • 2.30pm-4.30pm          Conversation and Questions
  • 4.00pm – 5.00pm        Break and time for Adoration
  • 5.00pm – 6.00pm        Discussion, questions and Wrap up
